Smart Noise Reduction improves audio clarity in noisy environments by using local AI algorithms to filter out background sounds (e.g., keyboard typing, fan noise, chatter) and enhance the human voice. This allows clearer communication during remote meetings.
How to Enable Smart Noise Reduction
- During a meeting, click the arrow next to the microphone icon on the bottom toolbar;
- Select “Enable Smart Noise Reduction” from the dropdown menu;
- Once enabled, your voice input will be filtered to suppress background noise automatically.
Usage Notes
- The feature is disabled by default and must be manually turned on by each user;
- Once enabled, other participants will notice a significant improvement in the clarity of your audio;
- Recommended for use in noisy environments such as cafés, open offices, or shared spaces;
- Currently, this feature is available only on the PC client. Mobile platforms are not yet supported.
Best Practices
- Noise reduction may suppress ambient or high-frequency sounds. Do not enable if you intend to share background music or multiple voices;
- If switching audio devices during a meeting, recheck the noise reduction status to ensure it remains enabled.
